Bangladesh's opener Tanzid Hasan departed after a well-made knock against the Netherlands on June 12 in a crucial Group D match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Arnos Vale Stadium.

The match saw early disruptions due to rain, forcing the Netherlands to invite Bangladesh to bat first.

This decision quickly favoured the Dutch as they secured their first breakthrough in the second over. Litton Das soon followed, becoming the second victim of Aryan Dutt.

Tanzid Hasan, showing promising form, managed to score 35 runs off 26 balls before falling to the right-arm fast bowler Paul van Meekeren.

The pivotal wicket fell in the ninth over, breaking a budding partnership. Van Meekeren delivered a short-of-a-length ball on the stumps, which Tanzid attempted to pull against the wind.

Unfortunately for the southpaw, he ended up hitting it into the hands of the deep square leg fielder. Bas de Leede, stationed in the deep, moved forward to take a brilliant and a safe catch.

At the time of writing, Bangladesh are at 76 for 3 in 10 overs, with the team aiming to build on the foundation laid by Tanzid's spirited innings.
