On Tuesday, Pakistan had an emphatic start to the three-match ODI series against Afghanistan, defeating the hosts by a whopping 142-run margin in the first ODI in Hambantota. 

Batting first, Pakistan managed a paltry 201-run total on the board, as the Afghan spinners ran riot to rattle their batting order. However, Pakistan's pace battery, comprising Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah and Haris Rauf, was good enough to dismantle Afghanistan for a meagre 59, their second-lowest ODI total, and secure a thumping victory. 

Although Imam-ul-Haq and Shaheen Afridi had scintillating outings with bat and ball, respectively, the biggest positive for Pakistan was Haris Rauf, who ran through the Afghan batting order, recording a sensational five-wicket haul. 

After getting rid of Rahmanullah Gurbaz, Ikram Ali Khil and Mohammad Nabi, the ace speedster castled Rashid Khan with an absolute peach, earning massive accolades in this process. 

Bowling the 16th over, Rauf bowled a beautiful delivery that moved marginally into the batter after pitching around the fourth stump. Rashid had no clue whatsoever, as the ball breached his defence to shatter the off stump.

With the clinical win, Pakistan went one-nil up in the three-match series. They will try their heart out to bag the series when both teams take on each other in the second ODI at the same venue on Thursday.
