Rashid Khan trapped Sam Curran plumb in front on Sunday evening during Match 37 of IPL 2024 between Gujarat Titans and Punjab Kings in Mullanpur.

However, the on-field umpire did not give him out after the ball hit Curran’s pads. Shubman Gill, who took an excellent review to dismiss Rilee Rossouw earlier, signalled T yet again. And it worked, as the ball would have crashed the middle and leg stump had it not hit the pads.

With that, Gill was delighted, and so was Rashid, as Punjab were sinking yet again after top-order collapses.

On the other hand, Curran, who came to open the innings yet again in the absence of their skipper Shikhar Dhawan, failed to make much impact. He scored 20 off 19 balls, that too with the help of three fours before Rashid trapped him.

At the time of writing, Punjab are struggling badly, scoring 86/5 after 12 overs, with Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma in the middle, on 1* and 0* respectively. The duo have been in excellent touch, and would like to carry on the momentum to take their side to a respectable total.
