KKR's star all-rounder Sunil Narine found himself at the center of attention in the 10th match of IPL 2024 against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium. However, it wasn't for his usual exploits with bat or ball but rather for a crucial dropped catch that could have turned the tide in KKR's favour.

As the match unfolded, Glenn Maxwell, RCB's hard-hitting batsman, was struggling to find his form, desperately seeking redemption after a string of disappointing performances.

Yet, Narine's lapse in concentration during the 14th over handed Maxwell a second lifeline, much to the dismay of the KKR faithful.

Harshit Rana was the bowler in action when Maxwell decided to take on the KKR attack. With aggressive intent, Maxwell aimed for the fences, only to mistime his shot and offer a chance to Narine at short third man.

Narine, known for his safe hands, seemed poised to complete the dismissal, but as fate would have it, he failed to cling on to the ball. The missed opportunity not only allowed Maxwell to continue his innings but also added to KKR's growing list of fielding blunders.

As the match progressed, RCB capitalised on the let-off, with Virat Kohli leading from the front to ensure a strong start for the home side.

Despite an early setback with the dismissal of Faf du Plessis, RCB's batsmen continued to pile on the pressure, leaving KKR to rue their missed chances.

At the time of writing, RCB at 141 for 3 in 16 overs.
