In a thrilling encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the M.A. Chidambaram Stadium, Ruturaj Gaikwad showcased his brilliance with the bat, only to fall agonizingly short of a century.

Gaikwad's innings, which was the second century chase of the IPL 2024 season, came to an end at 98 runs, leaving him visibly distraught as he walked back to the pavilion.

Facing the bowling of T Natarajan in the crucial 20th over of the match, Gaikwad attempted a big shot over mid-wicket but mistimed the ball, resulting in a simple catch for the fielder stationed at deep mid-wicket.

Despite his disappointment, Gaikwad received applause from the crowd for his commendable performance.

As Gaikwad trudged back to the dressing room, his disappointment was palpable, reflecting the intense passion and dedication he brings to the game.
