Pakistan's veteran batter Fakhar Zaman oozed his class with the bat, as he struck a crucial cameo for the Markhors in their ongoing Champions Cup clash against the Lions. Opening the batting for the Markhors, Zaman smashed 28 runs before Mohammad Ali dismissed him.
Fakhar Zaman struck three glorious boundaries; however, it was his effortless six that grabbed the maximum attention. The incident occurred during the fifth over of the Markhors when Zaman was trying to steady the ship for his side alongside Muhammad Abdul Samad.
The Lions' premier pacer Musa Khan had a torrid start to the over, with the explosive left-handed batter hitting him for a gorgeous boundary in the first delivery. Although the right-arm pacer managed to bowl three dot balls, Fakhar followed it up with a huge six over the extra cover.
From over the wicket, Musa Khan bowled a good length delivery that shaped away from Fakhar after pitching around the off stump. The batter created room for himself and timed it beautifully over the extra cover for an effortless six.
Markhors Lose Regular Wickets vs Lions
However, Fakhar Zaman couldn't convert his start into an impactful score, being dismissed for 28 runs in the sixth over. Apart from the experienced opener, captain Iftikhar Ahmed was the only shining light for the Markhors in the high-voltage clash. At the time of writing, the Markhors were 126 for six, with Iftikhar and Saad Masood batting on 32* and 10*, respectively.
