The Maharaja Trophy 2024 is into its 22nd game now and it is Mangaluru Dragons who are up against Shivamogga Lions. Mangaluru Dragons scored 152 while batting first and in the run-chase, Lions were rocked early with wickets of Dheeraj Mohan and Nihal Ullal in the Powerplay.

The wicket of Dheeraj Mohan was bagged by Abhilash Shetty but a lot of credit for it would go to the fielder,  Macneil Noronha. It was the fifth delivery of the third over and a fullish delivery on middle and off. Mohan tried to hit it over the in-field, but ended up hitting it off the inside half of his blade.

It seemed that he has got enough to take it away from the mid on fielder. However, Noronha had other plans, he ran to his right and backwards, kept his eyes on the ball and completed a fantastic catch with a dive in the end. It was quite a catch that left everyone on the ground awestruck and was a classic example of how catches can change the complexion of the game.

Shivamogga And Mangaluru In Need Of 2 Points

Both Shivamogga Lions and Mangaluru Dragons are at the bottom of the points table, and need to win this game if they want to take that upward flight on the points table. At the time of writing, Lions have lost four wickets and all their hopes are on Abhinav Manohar now who has been in good form this season.
