The pivotal moment unfolded in the 9th over of the match when Adil Rashid took charge of the ball during USA's innings. Rashid's delivery proved decisive, as he outfoxed Jones with a venomous delivery.

Rashid, bowling over the wicket, tossed the ball up outside off, delivering a googly. Jones attempted a slog sweep from a kneeling position but failed to connect, misreading Rashid's delivery. Consequently, the ball crashed into the middle stump, sending Jones back to the pavilion.

With this crucial dismissal, USA found themselves in a tight spot, losing their third wicket and putting pressure on the co-hosts, as they struggled at 65 for 3 in 10 overs.
