During the first innings of the Qualifier 1 between Chennai and Gujarat, Ravindra Jadeja embarrassed his partner Moeen Ali with his quick running antics as both the CSK batters were found in a single frame seconds before the keeper nailed a direct hit. On Tuesday, GT's seamer Mohammed Shami bowled a waist-high full-toss during the last over of the innings, on which the CSK batters snapped a quick single.
However, the replays showed Jadeja, the no-striker, made it to the other end even before the Englishman could leave his end. The drama didn't end here as it was a no-ball, although Chennai could take advantage of the opportunity as Jadeja could only bag just a run off it.
Earlier in the innings, Ruturaj Gaikwad and Devon Conway gave the four-time champions a solid start with the bat, but the Titans made a solid comeback after the conditions started to tire down. Even the in-form Shivam Dube and Ajinkya Rahane couldn't stand tall against the GT challenge, but Jadeja and Moeen scored some timely boundaries to help Chennai's cause.
The duo played a massive role in CSK's innings as they gave a flourishing end to the innings, after the middle order crumbled in the middle phase against the Gujarat spinners. And thanks to them, the Super Kings posted an above-par score of 172-7 at Chepauk.
