Swashbuckling Australian batter Travis Head had a lucky escape during Sunrisers Hyderabad's tenth group-stage IPL 2024 face-off against Rajasthan Royals. The explosive southpaw, who has been in scintillating form this IPL, was dropped on the first ball by Riyan Parag.

The incident occurred in the first over of SRH's innings as Trent Boult started the proceedings for the visitors after Pat Cummins opted to bat first

Bowling the first ball of his spell, Boult delivered an in-swinger which moved away from left-handed Travis Head after pitching around the full length.

As Boult had offered width, Head threw the kitchen sink at it, with the ball flying flat towards the off side.

It was in the air at a catchable height, but Riyan Parag, placed at backward point, dropped it, giving the batter a lifeline.

As a result, the ball raced towards the deep point boundary, rewarding Head and SRH valuable four runs to get off the mark.

Head has had a memorable campaign in the IPL 2024, amassing 338 runs (before this game) at an average of 42.25 and an unbelievable strike rate of 211.25.

The Sunrisers have got off to a cautious start against the Royals. As of writing, they are placed at 21 for no loss in 3.1 overs, with Head and Abhishek Sharma unbeaten in the middle.
