The Mumbai Indians desperately needed a wicket after a solid start from the Gujarat Titans (GT) openers and the breakthrough was provided by their skipper, Hardik Pandya as he dismissed a well-set Shubman Gill. Alongside Sai Sudharsan, Gill added 78 runs and MI desperately needed a wicket to stay alive in the contest.

Hardik's cheeky send-off to Gill

While all the bowlers were going for plenty, Hardik Pandya stepped in and provided the wicket with a brilliant use of the short-pitched ball. With the pitch not assisting the bowlers, the MI skipper had to devise a plan and he came up with a perfect idea.

There was a fielder at deep square leg as Hardik bowled short and Gill pulled it viciously and found Naman Dhir at deep square leg as the plan worked to perfection for Hardik. After the wicket, he gave a wicked smile while giving a send-off to the GT skipper, Gill.


Sudharsan, Gill take MI to the cleaners

GT were put into bat by Hardik and the two openers took MI bowlers to the cleaners as both Gill and Sudharsan had a perfect plan. They attacked each and every bowler and made a mockery of them in the power-play.

Both the opening batters complimented each other really well and it needed a perfect setup to dismiss either of the two and Hardik provided just that with his excellent short ball.

At the moment, Jos Buttler has joined hands with Sudharsan as the duo will look to help GT reach at-least 200, since the dew will come in and it will make batting easier for MI.
