Swashbuckling English batter Phil Salt got luckily survived in Kolkata Knight Riders' ongoing IPL 2024 clash against Punjab Kings as Sam Curran dropped an easy catch ti give him a lifeline. 

The incident occurred during the sixth over of KKR's innings when PBKS were searching for a breakthrough after the initial fireworks from Salt and his opening partner, Sunil Narine. 

After conceding a boundary off his first delivery, Arshdeep bowled three dot balls on the trot to build pressure on Salt. 

The English batter, in a bid to break the shackles, attempted for an aggressive shot in the penultimate delivery. 

It was a full-length delivery angling across from Arshdeep as Salt powerfully struck an uppish drive. 

The ball was in the air for quite some time and went straight to Punjab's stand-in skipper Sam Curran, who dropped a sitter, giving the batter a lifeline. 

Earlier, Punjab's decision to bowl first proved disastrous for them, with Salt and Narine ensuring a great start for the Knight Riders through their scintillating shots. 

Riding on the openers' breathtaking knocks and some sloppy fielding from the Punjab players, KKR have powered themselves to 85 for no loss in seven overs.
