The Northern Superchargers completed a convincing victory over the Oval Invincibles in the 12th match of the Women's Hundred 2024 at the Kennington Oval in London.

Sutherland and Litchfield take Superchagers to a handsome total

The Invincibles won the toss and put the Superchargers to bat. Even after losing an wicket early, the Superchargers were able to post 146/4 at the end of their 100 balls, courtesy of Phoebe Litchfield (44 off 30) and Annabel Sutherland (63 off 40).

In reply, the Oval Invincibles struggled from the beginning and kept on losing wickets. The chase never gained momentum. At one stage they were struggling at 23/5 and things looked very gloomy for the team. However, Page Scholfield and Amanda Jade-Wellington stitched a partnership of 32 runs and tried to keep their team alive in the competition.

However, Scholfield was dismissed when the score was 55 and the responsibility now fell on Amanda Wellington to take the game deep. However, this did not happen as Annabel Sutherland came to the attack and decimated the lower order of the Invincibles. She was handed over the ball to bowl the 13th and 14th set and in a span of six deliveries, the Aussie all-rounder picked up four wickets and finished the game.

On the first ball of the 13th set, Sutherland picked up Wellington and nearly ended the fight from the opposition. She followed wit up with Ryana MacDonal-Gay's wicket off the immediate next delivery. Sophia Smale evaded the hat-trick but fell a ball later. Sutherland finished things off by dismissing Rachel Slater of the first ball of the 14th set.

The Oval Invincibles were bundled out for just 64 as they lost the game by 82 runs.
