Andre Russell fell for a golden duck when his team needed him in the first innings of the 20th match of CPL 2024 between Trinbago Knight Riders and Antigua & Barbuda Falcons. So, he was bound to come hard with the ball, and that is exactly what has happened as he has delivered a perfect yorker to clean up Kofi James in the Powerplay.
It was the fourth over of the Falcons' innings, and Russell was bowling his second over. The initial four balls of the over fetched just two runs and the pressure was on Kofi James to get going. However, Pollard came up with a snorter on the fifth delivery as he bowled a perfect yorker that came into right-hander James and knocked him over as he failed to get his bat down in time.
Andre Russell was pumped up after hitting the timber, and it showed how much he wants to contribute for a team's cause. The wicket of James reduced Falcons to 15-2, but Hassan smashed 36 off 20 balls and brought them back on the track. However, Narine got rid of him in the 10th over and brought TKR back in the game.
Big Controversy Erupts In CPL 2024
In the same 10th over, though, a big controversy erupted after Imad Wasim was given out LBW. He was initially given not out by the on-field umpire, but TKR took DRS, and he was eventually given out. However, the replays clearly displayed that he got an inside edge on it, and Wasim was not a happy man. He walked off the field reluctantly, but then the umpires called him back, and that did not go well with Knight Riders camp.
There was an intense discussion between the players of two sides, and the umpire and eventually Imad Wasim got a lifeline. At the time of writing, the Pakistan star is at the crease and along with Greaves, he is looking to take his team over the line against a star-studded TKR unit.
