India's rising star, Yashasvi Jaiswal marked his T20I debut for India on Tuesday, taking the place of opening batsman Ishan Kishan in the ongoing third T20I against West Indies. The game is underway at Providence Stadium in Guyana, where India aims to recover from their 0-2 deficit in the series.

Jaiswal delivered an impressive performance during the Test series against West Indies, notably achieving a remarkable score of 171 in his debut Test appearance during the initial match. However, he failed to make a mark on his T20I debut, as he departed with just a single run.

Obed McCoy claimed an early wicket in the fourth delivery of the run chase with his wicket. Jaiswal's debut did not align with his aspirations, leaving him disheartened as was evident with his reaction as soon as he hit the ball too high.

Faced with a length delivery outside the off-stump, Jaiswal leaned forward and attempted a forceful shot across the line. Regrettably, he failed to connect properly with the delivery due to misjudging its trajectory, resulting in a mishit that soared high into the air. The shot lacked the required distance, and Joshua Da Silva, stationed at mid-on, settled beneath the ball after taking a few steps backward. Da Silva held on to a challenging catch, securing West Indies' initial wicket in the process. This turn of events meant that Jaiswal's dream T20I debut was not to be, ending in disappointment for both him and his team.
