The much-awaited clash between South African women and England women is underway at the Sharjah Cricket Ground in UAE. The Laura Wolvaardt-led side won the toss and opted to bat first.

South Africa was provided a lifeline early on in the match after England skipper Heather Knight failed to take a catch on the 2nd ball of the first over. It was not the end of the fortune for Tazmin Brits as she was handed another life after Sarah Glenn dropped one at short fine leg. It was a difficult one but made a huge impact on the game.

Nonetheless, Brits couldn't utilise those dropped chances and finally fell prey to Linsey Smith. On the first ball of the 6th over, Brits danced down the track and tried to clear the long-on but couldn't time the shot that well.

The ball went in Danille Gibson's direction, which made an effortless catch into a difficult one. Brits were nearly handed another life, but Gibson managed to hang on to the catch in one of the most hilarious manners.
