The defending champions of the CPL, Guyana Amazon Warriors, are taking on the St. Lucia Kings in the 10th match of the CPL 2024. This match is being played at the Daren Sammy National Cricket Stadium in Gros Islet, St. Lucia. 

The Warriors won the toss and put the Kings to bat. Imran Tahir would have been impressed by the effort his bowlers put in the game. The Warriors' bowlers ran through the St. Lucia Kings' batting line-up and had them on the mat very early in the game. 

Unfortunately, the broadcasting had some issues for the majority of the first innings. However, with the return of the live pictures, we saw some resilience from the St. Lucia Kings. 

Matthew Forde showed the only resilience for the Kings

The West Indian all-rounder, Matthew Forde, was fighting it out for the Kings along with Tim Seifert. During his little fight in the middle, Forde hit Imran Tahir for two huge maximums off consecutive deliveries, one of the brightest moments in the innings of the St. Lucia Kings. 

Forde went a bit wide of long-on for the first six. It was a tossed-up delivery around the middle and leg stump. Forde cleared his front leg and heaved the ball over the mid-wicket fence for a maximum. Tahir tossed the ball immediately after that, and Forde took the attack to him again. This time, Forde went straighter and over the long-off fence. 

Although Forde looked good in the middle, he failed to bat for long. And like him, the St. Lucia innings also did not last long. They were bundled out for just 100 runs in 14.3 overs.
