India's explosive batter Sanju Samson had a fabulous start to the T20I series against England, as he smashed Gus Atkinson for a flurry of boundaries at Eden Gardens in Kolkata. Opening the batting for India, Samson helped the hosts get a rollicking start with his flamboyant stroke play.

The incident occurred in the second over of India's innings after they restricted England to a paltry 132-run total. Samson adopted a cautious approach against Jofra Archer before switching gears with tremendous counterattack in the next over.

As soon as English captain Jos Buttler brought Atkinson into the attack, Samson started the over with two consecutive boundaries. The next ball was a dot before the swashbuckling batter demoralised the English pacer with a six and two more boundaries.

He pulled the first ball to the fence before playing gorgeous shots all around the ground. His blistering start was like cherry on top for India after a clinical bowling performance.

India On The Verge Of A Clinical Win Over England

Bowling first, India dismantled England for 132 despite Jos Buttler's fighting half-century. Varun Chakravarthy was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts, getting three prized scalps. In response, India raced to 41 in just four overs before Samson was dismissed by Jofra Archer's short delivery. As of writing, India were 41 for one, with Abhishek Sharma batting on 10*.
