Virat Kohli, the heart of RCB, has surpassed Shikhar Dhawan to become the leading run scorer in IPL against CSK. After a 31-run knock in a recent IPL 2025 season game, Kohli re-established his dominance against the Yellow Army.

IPL 2025 season hosted a high-voltage southern derby between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). RCB batted first in Chepauk and were off to a flyer start, thanks to Phil Salt’s 32 off 16 balls.

Virat Kohli, the other opener, also supported Salt at a slower pace, scoring 31 off 30 balls. However, his knock helped him achieve a personal milestone against Chennai.

In the recent IPL 2023 clash, he scored 31 runs against Chennai and became the player with the most runs scored against CSK in IPL’s history.

With 1084 runs, Kohli surpassed the previous record of Shikhar Dhawan who hit 1057 runs against CSK in 29 games. Rohit Sharma, Dinesh Karthik and David Warner are some other names who feature in this list.

For CSK, Noor Ahmad again impressed with 3 wickets. Matheesha Pathirana, though returning from injury, picked crucial wickets of Patidar and Krunal Pandya to put a stoppage to RCB’s scoring rate in the death overs.
