Australia are batting India out of the match in the fourth Test of the Border Gavaskar Trophy 2024. The match at the Melbourne Cricket Ground is currently in a situation from where it will require a brilliant batting effort by the visitors to make a comeback in the game.
The match was in the balance at the end of Day 1. Australia had 311 runs on the board and lost six wickets. From that position the game could have gone either way on Day 2. India would have hoped to bundle out the home team as quickly as possible and then take an advantage in the game by displaying a resolute batting effort. However, that did not happen courtesy Steve Smith.
