The fifteenth match of the Big Bash League (BBL) 2022-23 witnessed the Sydney Sixers notch up a comfortable win over the Melbourne Stars, riding on a sensational knock from Moises Henriques.

Beau Webster propels Stars to 150

The Stars' top-order suffered early setbacks once again, with Thomas Rogers and James Seymour falling cheaply.

Joe Clarke and Beau Webster consolidated for their side, adding 39 runs. Jackson Bird broke the blooming stand, nabbing Clarke for 27.

Webster, unfazed, notched his first WBBL 12 fifty in 38 balls, with Hilton Cartwright supporting him at the other end. The pair swiftly added 50 runs in 35 balls, with Webster doing the bulk of the scoring.

Hayder Kerr claimed Webster's wicket in the final over for 78, to halt the scoring rate. Eventually,  the Sixers managed 150 runs in their full 20 overs.

Moises Henriques plays a captain's knock

Chasing a modest 151, the Sixers approached the innings catiously, after losing Josh Phillppe for 1. Kurtis Patterson and James Vince blunted out Trent Boult and Luke Wood before starting to score with ease.

The duo added 50 runs in 38 deliveries, without any high risk shots. However,  Adam Zampa handed Melbourne a breakthrough, getting Vince's key scalp for 33. Patterson followed his partner, as Webster rattled his stumps for 24.

Jordan Silk and skipper Moises Henriques' experience came in handy for the Sixers, as they steered them past muddy waters, adding 88 runs for the fourth wicket.

Henriques (52*) slammed his first fifty of the season and 13th overall in the BBL to help his side win the match by seven wickets with Silk remaining unbeaten on 30*.
