The Indian wicketkeeper batter, Rishabh Pant is well known for his explosive batting and flamboyant style. Besides this, he is also known for his antics and funny take on the situation of a game from behind the stumps.

In the ongoing game between India and England at the Headingley Test, one such incident was noticed. During the 64th over of the English innings, Pant was seen teasing the English captain, Ben Stokes, for leaving a delivery.

Pant Teases Stokes For His Cautious Approach

The Indian wicketkeeper's voice was heard on the stump mic saying - 'Sensible Stokesy'. It was a deliberate ploy by the Indian gloves man to get under the skin of the batter.

In the very next over, the strategy proved successful. The southpaw fell in the 65th over of the innings while trying to go after a widish delivery away from his body. It was a brain fade moment for Captain Stokes, and it is very well possible that Pant's banter led to this momentary lapse of concentration.

Star Sports India posted the video of the whole incident on their X handle, highlighting Pant's role in the eventual demise of Stokes.

Rishabh Pant And T20 World Cup Final 'Playacting'

Rishabh Pant playing little psychological games is not anything new. During the T20 World Cup 2024 final against South Africa, Pant was seen playing similar antics.

At a stage when South Africa were going strong and marching towards a victory, Pant was seen lying on the field. Later, it was revealed that it was part of a play-acting tactic he used to disrupt the momentum of the opposition.

Whatever it is, these small things seemed to have worked for the Indian team. Indian cricket fans and the management will hope that he continues to tilt games in favour of India for the longest period possible.
