Pakistan had a disastrous start to their innings in the second T20I against Bangladesh as swashbuckling opener Saim Ayub was run out in the first over. After powering themselves to 133 runs, the Tigers had an emphatic start to the second half, with a lack of communication between Saim and Fakhar Zaman leading to the former's dismissal.

Saim Heartbroken As Fakhar's Last-Minute 'No' Leads To His Dismissal

The incident occurred in the very first over of Pakistan's innings when Fakhar and Saim had just entered the middle. The duo started off cautiously, collecting four runs, including a wide, in the first five deliveries.

However, the sixth ball brought disastrous consequences for the visiting side as Fakhar and Saim committed a hara-kiri that resulted in the latter's departure. As Saim cut Mahedi Hasan's good-length delivery off his back foot, the fielder at backward point dived to his right and saved a certain boundary.

In the meanwhile, the Pakistani openers had made up their minds for a quick single. It had to be Fakhar Zaman's call as he was running towards the danger end. However, the experienced batter refused for the single after initially calling his partner.

As a result, Saim Ayub was left stranded in middle of the pitch, with Litton Das dislodging the bails in a flash. After getting dismissed, Saim gave Fakhar a helpless look and said a few words before making his way back to the dugout.

Pakistan Suffer Top-Order Collapse

Saim's dismissal charged up Bangladesh as they wreaked havoc in the Pakistan camp by getting two more quick wickets. After trapping Mohammad Haris plumb in front of the stumps, Shoriful Islam got rid of the dangerous Fakhar Zaman, getting him caught behind by Litton Das.

As of writing, Pakistan were tottering at 14 for three, with Agha Salman and Hasan Nawaz batting on 3* and 0*, respectively.
