It was a very slow start for the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) as they started off with a maiden against Trent Boult with skipper KL Rahul not being able to find runs off his bowling.

The story continued for India's Rahul as he struggled to score runs against Boult who finished his spell for 1/16 in his four overs with none of the batters being able to counter his pace.

KL's opening partner started slowly too but recovered well with a half-century to his name, his third of the season. However, the pressure of Rahul not being able to rotate strike causing the West Indian cricketer and his team trouble.

The captain managed 39 runs from 32 balls courtesy of some blows during the end of the innings.

Ayush Badoni and Deepak Hooda were sent back cheaply and pressure started to mount on the batters with score being 104/4 when Mayers departed too by the end of 14 overs.

Marcus Stoinis and Nicholas Pooran did tried to up the ante but were only able to reach in 20s as Lucknow's innings ended on 154 for seven by the end of 20 overs.

Ravichandran Ashwin was the pick of the bowlers with two wickets for 23 runs in his full quota of overs.
