In a high-octane IPL 2025 clash between Mumbai Indians and Rajasthan Royals at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur, MI's batting unit delivered a sensational performance on Thursday night. The SMS witnessed a historic milestone too in the process!

After a solid start from openers Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians launched an all-out assault in the death overs, led by Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya.

Suryakumar and Pandya Forge Milestone Partnership for MI

The MI duo’s unbeaten 94-run partnership not only boosted MI’s final score but also became the highest-ever third-wicket stand for MI against RR in IPL history.

Batting first, MI rode on Ryan Rickelton’s explosive 61 (38) and Rohit’s classy 53 (36) to set the tone. The real damage, however, came in the final overs when Suryakumar (48* off 23) and Hardik (48* off 23) tore into the Royals’ bowling attack. They hammered 94 runs off the last 44 balls, lifting Mumbai to a massive 217/2.

RR’s bowlers had no answers, with Farooqi (0/54) and Archer (0/42) proving particularly expensive. Only Riyan Parag (1/12) managed to keep things tight. MI’s total is now among the highest ever at this venue, setting up a challenging chase for Rajasthan.

Mumbai In Control For Now!

With this commanding batting display, Mumbai Indians have not only posted one of their best totals of the season but also sent a strong message to the rest of the league. The 94*-run unbeaten stand between Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya underlined their finishing prowess, showcasing calculated aggression and clean ball striking.

The duo’s late blitz ensured MI capitalised fully on their flying start. With 217 on the board, the pressure now shifts entirely onto Rajasthan Royals in what promises to be a gripping run chase.
