Mumbai Indians is undoubtedly one of the most successful franchises in the history of the Indian Premier League (IPL). With five IPL titles in their cabinet, the Mumbai Indians team has also recorded quite a number of comprehensive victories throughout their near two-decade-long journey.

Here, we take a look at five of the biggest margin of wins recorded by Mumbai Indians in the IPL, in terms of runs.

5. Mumbai Indians – 92 runs vs KKR, IPL 2009

During the second edition of the IPL back in 2009, Mumbai Indians crushed KKR by 92 runs at the St George’s Park in Port Elizabeth. Batting first, Sachin Tendulkar and co. mounted 187-6 from 20 overs, with the captain himself top-scoring with 68 runs from 45 balls. His opening partner Sanath Jayasuriya also blasted 52 from 32, with only Laxmi Shukla (3-25) standing out among the KKR bowlers.

In response, KKR folded up for just 95 in 15.2 overs, with Sourav Ganguly himself chipping in with 34 of those runs. Lasith Malinga (3-10) and Abhishek Nayar (3-13) picked up three wickets each to headline Mumbai Indians’ win with the ball.

4. Mumbai Indians – 98 runs vs Delhi Daredevils, IPL 2010

Mumbai Indians, under the leadership of Sachin Tendulkar, blanked Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) by 98 runs in match nine of the IPL 2010 season in Delhi. After getting invited to bat first, Mumbai Indians charted 218-7 from 20 overs, courtesy of captain Tendulkar’s sizzling 32-ball 63. Saurabh Tiwary also unleashed 61 quick runs from just 37 deliveries with four fours and three sixes.

Mumbai Indians bowlers Dwayne Bravo, Harbhajan Singh as well as Sanath Jayasuriya complemented the batter’s efforts by picking up two wickets each, enveloping the entire Daredevils innings for just 120 in 16.3 overs.


3. Mumbai Indians – 100 runs vs Rajasthan Royals, IPL 2025

Mumbai Indians recorded only their third win by a margin of either 100 or more runs, doing so during match 50 of the IPL 2025 season. The outcome also marked Mumbai Indians’ first of such a margin after a gap of seven years. Batting first, Ryan Rickelton and Rohit Sharma both clubbed scintillating half-centuries during their 116-run stand in less than 12 overs. Captain Hardik Pandya and Suryakumar Yadav also belted 48 runs each from just 23 balls to boost Mumbai Indians’ total up to a monumental 217-2 from 20 overs.

As it turned out, Trent Boult and Karn Sharma picked up three wickets each, while Jasprit Bumrah wreaked havoc with the new ball to dust out Rajasthan Royals for just 117 in Jaipur.

2. Mumbai Indians – 102 runs vs KKR, IPL 2018

Mumbai Indians, under Rohit Sharma, walloped KKR by 102 runs at the Eden Gardens in match 41 of the IPL 2018 season. Courtesy of Ishan Kishan’s splendid 21-ball 62, and Ben Cutting’s burgeoning cameo of 24 from nine balls, the Mumbai Indians listed 210-6 from 20 overs after getting invited to bat first.

In a collective team effort with the ball, each Mumbai Indians bowler picked up at least a wicket, with brothers Krunal Pandya and Hardik Pandya claiming two each to fold up the hosts for just 108 in 18.1 overs.

1. Mumbai Indians – 146 runs vs Delhi Daredevils, IPL 2017

Mumbai Indians put up one of the all-round performances in the history of the tournament by crushing Delhi Daredevils (now Capitals) with a 146-run margin back in 2017. Batting first in Delhi, Lendl Simmons’ 43-ball 66 and Kieron Pollard’s 35-ball 63*, coupled with Hardik Pandya’s unbeaten cameo of 29 from 14 balls boosted Mumbai Indians to 212-3 from 20 overs.

The hosts failed to keep up with the asking rate from the outset, as they crumbled for a lowly 66 in 13.4 overs. Spinners Harbhajan Singh and Karn Sharma picked up three wickets each in the game, while Lasith Malinga took the important wickets of Shreyas Iyer and Corey Anderson.
