After a washout at Guwahati, Team India is hoping for a full match against the Netherlands in their second and final warm-up ahead of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to take place today at Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram. However, the forecast in Thiruvananthapuram does not look promising.

Ahead of the encounter at noon, the city is currently seeing heavy rains, which might end up being detrimental for Team India, as they will head into the marquee tournament without any cricket.

The weather forecast as per AccuWeather for Tuesday is gloomy and grim, with thunderstorms and heavy showers being predicted shattered across the day.

Interestingly, on Monday Team India underwent a training session without any rain interruptions but did not feature several key players like Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer, and Mohammed Shami.

Former skipper Kohli, who did not travel with Team India to Trivandrum, is expected to be available for the warm-up. Kohli flew back to Mumbai from Guwahati following 'personal emergency'.

On the other hand, the Netherlands, who have been stationed in Trivandrum, played a rain-curtailed first warm-up against Australia and will hope to get much-needed game time against India as well.

India's World Cup 2023 campaign starts when they clash against familiar foes in Australia on October 8 at Chennai, while the Netherlands meet Pakistan in their tournament opener on October 6 at Hyderabad.
