The India Vs England Test series is heading towards the English corner as Ben Duckett and Zak Crawley have taken the attack to the opposition bowlers. Under overcast conditions, the Indian attack led by Jasprit Bumrah was supposed to do well but the England openers negotiated the conditions and tore apart the bowlers systematically.

The hosts are cruising towards the target as 10 wickets remain and they have plenty of batters to follow. However, apart from the Indian bowlers, there is a second entity that could decide the fate of the Test match - rain god.

Throughout Day 5, there was light drizzle going on and as England were playing well, the rain god decided to ruin the fun as the intensity increased and the two teams had to rush out of the ground.

Headingley weather: Rain forecast for remainder of the Test match

As per Accuweather, there is rain threat for the remainder of the afternoon and it could potentially play spoilsport and could alter the outcome of the Test match. At 4 PM, there is a 50% chance of rain and as the evening comes, the rain probability reduces but the threat remains until 10 PM, there is a 37% rain chance and this could be harmful for England.

How the rain break could help Team India?

England needed 371 to record a famous win and they were well on their course to achieve the target. Before rain arrived, the hosts had not lost a single wicket and were placed at 181/0, still needing 190 runs to win.

However, this break could do wonders for Team India as they would get some time to re-think their strategy and devise a plan to dismiss the two openers. The surface has nothing for the bowlers and in the rain break, the Indian bowlers can have a discussion with bowling coach, Morne Morkel to make a tactical plan against England. The break would have also disrupted England's momentum as they were going well.
