'Pretty Bad Fielding Performance' David Warner After Sloppy DC's Scrapy Win Over PBKS

David Warner, the DC skipper was brutally honest at the post-match presentation as he admitted that it was a pretty bad fielding effort from his players even though his team coasted to a 15-run win against the Punjab Kings in Dharamshala on Wednesday.

The Capitals very nearly paid for their fielding lapses as Punjab's Liam Livingstone made the most of the reprieve and belted a 48-ball 94 with the help of 5 fours and 9 sixes to bring his side to the cusp of an unlikely victory.

Livingstone should never have been there in the first place had Anrich Nortje pouched a sitter after the English batter had slog-swept straight down his throat at deep mid-wicket.

However, a flurry of wickets in the end and the pressure of asking rate just got too much for Punjab to handle, and Delhi scrapped past the finishing line.

Earlier, comeback man, Prithvi Shaw smashed a brilliant half-century while Rilee Rossouw hammered an unbeaten 37-ball 82 to power the Capitals to 213/2 in 20 overs.

Warner was full of praise for Shaw and the 'Player of the Match' Rossouw.

Here's what David Warner said:

"Pretty bad fielding performance. We backed our strengths. Playing on a nice wicket helped. Was pretty challenging at home. The impact Prithvi had was nice to see. Rilee Rossouw played well as well. We needed some consistency at our home venue. We haven't been able to work out a total at home. Great to get the points tonight."

Delhi will now host the Chennai Super Kings in their final fixture of IPL 2023 on May 20.
