On Monday, India and Nepal will lock horns with each other in the fifth group-stage fixture of the Asia Cup 2023. Both teams kickstarted their campaign against Pakistan. While Pakistan crushed Nepal by 238 runs, India's game was abandoned due to rain after they posted a competitive 266-run total on a tricky deck.

As both teams gear up for this game, let's see what Pallekele's weather forecast says for Monday, September 4.

Pallekele Weather Forecast

The third group-stage game of the Asia Cup 2023 between arch-rivals India and Pakistan was interrupted multiple times before eventually being called off due to a persistent downpour. Rain intervened after India's innings concluded, and no further play was possible as the drizzle continued.

Something similar is expected on Monday in the India vs Nepal Asia Cup clash, with rain expected to play spoilsport yet again in Pallekele. As per weather.com, the precipitation chances are as high as 60 to 70 per cent, which will likely result in another abandoned fixture.

What if India vs Nepal game is called off?

Currently, India are placed second in the Group A standings with one point that they earned from the cancelled game against Pakistan. On the contrary, Nepal occupy the bottom spot with zero points and an incredibly low NRR of -4.76. So, if this game ends with no result, both teams will get a point each, with India qualifying for the Super Four round alongside Pakistan from Group A.
