At the iconic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Gujarat Titans (GT) thrashed Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 39 runs. On the back of sensational performances from skipper Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, and the rest of the bowlers, Gujarat Titans earned their sixth win of the season.

Batting first, Titans posted 198 on the board for the loss of three wickets, where Sudharsan (52), Shubman Gill (90), and Jos Buttler (41*) helped Titans get past the above par total. In reply, the Kolkata Knight Riders faltered, where skipper Ajinkya Rahane could only get to 50, while the rest of the batters couldn't really leave a mark.

So, for the very first time, the orange cap finally gets shifted to Sai Sudharsan after he struck an outstanding 52 off 36 deliveries and got past Lucknow Super Giants' Nicholas Pooran, who is at 368 runs after eight games.

Sudharsan surpassed him and now has a cumulative of 417 runs, with an average of 52.12 and a strike rate of 152.18. Jos Buttler, after his 41*, has moved up to third position with 356 runs, while Suryakumar Yadav and Virat Kohli have slipped down to fourth and fifth positions, respectively.

IPL 2025 Purple Cap List

On the purple cap charts, Gujarat Titans' Prasidh Krishna retains his purple cap with 16 wickets in eight matches, as he bowled brilliantly, delivering a spell of 2/25 in his four overs to stay at the top of the table with 16 wickets at an average of 14.12 and an economy of 7.29.

DC's Kuldeep Yadav is jointly second, while Sai Kishore, who was outstanding as well, with figures of 1/19 in his three overs, shares the spot alongside him, CSK's Noor Ahmad and RCB's Josh Hazlewood with 12 wickets.
