After the first high-profile clash, New Zealand is all set to host West Indies for the 2nd ODI at McLean Park in Napier on November 19. The match is scheduled to be played live from 6:30 AM IST.

New Zealand

New Zealand will be at a disadvantage with the star performer of the first ODI, Daryl Mitchell, ruled out of the game due to a groin injury. Nevertheless, the top-order balance remains the same, with Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra primarily responsible for providing a solid foundation with the bat.

Zak Foulkes, Kyle Jamieson, Mitchell Santner, and Michael Bracewell will form the bowling unit, posing yet another formidable challenge for the visitors at Napier.

West Indies

West Indies will look to regroup after a poor batting performance from the Shai Hope-led side. Opener John Campbell disappointed with just four runs in his outing. Alec Athanase and Kesi Kartel were too slow to build momentum in the 269-run chase.

Only Sherfane Rutherford’s 55 off 61 was commendable. The bowling unit will also look to strengthen its performance. Jayden Seales, who was the pick of the bowlers in the first ODI, will likely be a key figure again in the second ODI, alongside Matthew Forde, Roston Chase, and Shamar Springer.

NZ vs WI head-to-head overview

McLean Park Napier pitch report

The McLean Park pitch in Napier usually offers a balanced surface that suits both batters and bowlers. Early in the innings, seamers get assistance with bounce and movement.

Spinners, as usual, can find some purchase later in the match. However, with dew in play, it often turns into a batter's paradise. Captains winning the toss here generally prefer to bowl first to exploit the early conditions.
