Despite New Zealand sitting on the box seat throughout the day, all three results are likely in this Test match between Pakistan and New Zealand.

The day begin with an early wicket of Pakistan's Number 11 batter - Abrar Ahmed, who was found guilty in front of the stumps, leaving Saud Shakeel to remain without any help at 125*.

With a lead of 41 runs, the Blackcaps had almost an entire pile on runs and rule the home team out of the contest.

However, that didn't happen as the Kiwis faced trouble in scoring runs at a considerate run rate, as they end with a lead of 318 runs.

Pakistan bowlers failed to leave a mark

The centurion from the last game, Devon Conway bagged a golden duck in the second innings as Mir Hamza broke his defences to rattle his woods. A small window was opened for the Babar Azam-led team, but Tom Latham (62) and Kane Williamson (41) shut all the open doors with 109 runs for the second wicket.

When things were looking tidy for the Kiwis, a twist came into the game when the. visitors lost both Latham and Williamson in quick juncture, and Henry Nicholls followed them back to the hut soon.

But then Tom Blundell (74) and Michael Bracewell (74*) became a force in the middle and stemmed a 127-run stand. They might have scored runs but the rate of scoring was questionable throughout the partnership.

The Kiwis lost Blundell in the fag-end of the day before declaring on 277-5, however; the game is in New Zealand's hands more than it is in Pakistan's.

Early bite for Blackcaps

Three overs was all they had to survive through the day, but it break a hard task for Pakistan.

Captain Southee with the new cherry removed Abdullah Shafique on the second delivery of the last innings and the nightwatchman Mir Hamza was removed by Ish Sodhi once again to spice things up.

With 318 runs lead, the Tim Southee and co. are ahead of the game. However, they would still need break eight more wickets, and most importantly the scalp of Babar Azam, on the last day.
