Experienced pacer Mohammed Shami surpassed the legendary Anil Kumble on Sunday to become India's third-highest wicket-taker in ODI World Cup history.

Shami pulled off this feat during India's match against New Zealand in Dharamsala, making a thunderous entry and taking out New Zealand opener Will Young for 17 runs on his first ball of the day.

With this wicket, Shami now has 32 wickets in ODI World Cup history, surpassing legendary spinner Anil Kumble, who had taken 31 wickets in the tournament. The Uttar Pradesh pacer took just 12 innings to reach this milestone.

Zaheer Khan and Javagal Srinath from India are the front-runners on this chart, both boasting 44 wickets. It's worth mentioning that Zaheer Khan accomplished this in a mere 23 World Cup innings, while Srinath took 33 innings to match the feat.
