It’s not every day you see a father playing against his own son in a professional cricket match. But that’s exactly what happened during the Shpageeza Cricket League 2025 in Afghanistan.
In a match between Mis Ainak Knights and Amo Sharks on July 22 at the Alokozay Kabul International Cricket Ground, fans got to witness something truly special, Mohammad Nabi bowling to his 18-year-old son, Hassan Eisakhil.
Mohammad Nabi Gets Hit For Six by His Son Hassan Eisakhil
The unique moment happened when Amo Sharks won the toss and chose to bat first. Hassan opened the innings with Abdul Malik. In the ninth over, when Mohammad Nabi came on to bowl, his son didn’t hold back. Hassan smashed a big six off his father’s first over, which turned out to be Nabi’s only over of the match, giving away 12 runs.
Hassan kept the momentum going and scored his half-century in just 32 balls. He was eventually dismissed after scoring 52 runs from 36 balls, hitting 5 fours and 2 sixes. His knock helped Amo Sharks reach a total of 162 runs, before they were bowled out in 19.4 overs.
Hassan Eisakhil’s Career So Far
Talking about his career so far, Hassan Eisakhil has already played 25 T20 matches and scored 599 runs, including four half-centuries. He also represented Afghanistan in the 2024 U-19 World Cup. In this season of the Shpageeza League, he scored 6 and 35 runs in his first two games before this solid 52-run knock.
Amo Sharks are looking strong this season with two back-to-back wins. They were the champions last year, beating Band-e-Amir Dragons by 7 wickets in the final. With players like Hassan stepping up, the team might be on track to lift the trophy again this year.
