In a remarkable achievement, veteran Australian fast bowler Mitchell Starc brought up 100 wickets in The Ashes. The talismanic cricketer attained the phenomenal feat in the first Test of the Ashes 2025-26 at Perth Stadium.

100 wickets in The Ashes: Starc enters legendary Australian league

Mitchell Starc set the opening day of the Perth Test on fire, scalping three crucial English wickets in the first session. After dismissing Zak Crawley in his first over, Starc went on to trap Ben Duckett plumb in front of the stumps with an absolute cracker. However, the dismissal of Joe Root was like icing on the cake, as the Australian ace removed the English great for a seven-ball duck.

With Root's dismissal, Starc entered the elusive club of Australian cricketers with 100 scalps in the Ashes history. Overall, he became the thirteenth Australian bowler to achieve the feat.
