Left-arm speedster Marco Jansen ran through India's batting order, dismantling the hosts with a six-wicket haul in the Guwahati Test. After slamming a fabulous fifty in the first innings, Jansen ensured India's batting collapse with a magnificent spell that placed him next to the legendary Dale Steyn on an elite list of South African bowlers. 

Jansen becomes third pacer after Klusener and Steyn to record six-fer in India

While Simon Harmer and Keshav Maharaj initiated India's collapse with crucial wickets of Jaiswal, KL Rahul and B Sai Sudharsan, Jansen began his onslaught on the hosts with Dhruv Jurel's prized breakthrough. The tall left-arm pacer used his height to perfection, outfoxing the likes of Rishabh Pant, Ravindra Jadeja and Nitish Reddy with sharp short balls. 

He further went on to get rid of Kuldeep Yadav and Jasprit Bumrah, wrapping up the Indian tail and registering the third-best bowling figures for South Africa in Test matches in India.

Talking about Jansen, the experienced all-rounder has showcased prolific form in the ongoing Test series. Besides scoring 106 runs at a blistering strike rate of 96.36, Jansen has bagged eleven wickets in just three innings. 

Riding on Jansen's all-round exploits, South Africa have claimed the driving seat in the Guwahati Test. As of writing, the Proteas were 11 for none in their second innings, having secured a lead of 299 runs.
