The pitch at the Ekana Stadium has once again come under scrutiny in the ongoing IPL match between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) on Saturday.

Right at the toss time, Hardik Pandya stated that the wicket will get slower as the game progresses, and as a result the GT skipper elected to bat first.

But it is fair to say that KL Rahul had done his home-work and came well prepared for the GT opening batters (Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha). KL Rahul brought in Krunal Pandya in the second over and that turned out to be a master-stroke as Gill went after him and was caught at long-off. The star batter went back to the pavilion without opening his account.

Right at the toss time, Hardik Pandya stated that the wicket will get slower as the game progresses, and with the fall of Gill, Hardik promoted himself at number three and started the repair work alongside Saha.

Saha started watchfully, but once he got used to the slowness of the surface, the Indian keeper hit a couple of boundaries to ease up the pressure on his side.

He targeted LSG’s best spinner in Ravi Bishnoi and struck him for a couple of boundaries to end the power-play.

At the time of writing, GT are 51 for 1, at the end of the 8th over. Saha is batting at 41.
