In an eagerly anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 showdown, the Mumbai Indians (MI) will clash with the Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, April 22. Both teams have garnered six points, but with a better net run rate and a game in hand, the five-time IPL champions are placed one place above PBKS at the sixth spot.

Ahead of the mouth-watering clash, cricket commentator, Aakash Chopra, has picked Mumbai Indians as the favourites to win the contest.

In a video shared on his YouTube channel, Chopra expressed his confidence in Mumbai's chances, citing their more solid team than Punjab's.

He further emphasised that if you were to match up both teams, the scale would heavily tilt towards Mumbai. Thus, the former batter concluded that the MI team should win the game.

"I am going right in favor of Mumbai because the team is looking more solid as compared to Punjab. If you do a match-up between both teams, it seems the scale is heavily tilted towards Mumbai. So Mumbai should win," said Chopra.

The renowned cricket expert highlighted Mumbai's exceptional batting line-up, which he believes is the right recipe for success. However, he stated that Rohit Sharma, Mumbai's captain, should score a few more runs.

Additionally, the 45-year-old reckoned that Ishan Kishan is batting well. At the same time, Cameron Green should bat at No. 3. The pundit also mentioned Mumbai's impressive batting depth with players like Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, and Tim David in their ranks.

"Mumbai have found the right recipe with regards to their batting. Rohit Sharma should score a few more runs. Ishan Kishan is having a good time now. Make Cameron Green bat at No. 3. Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Tim David - they have the batting depth," concluded the erstwhile cricketer.

Moreover, according to Chopra, Jofra Archer could feature in MI's starting XI if he is fit and available. If the England seamer is selected, either Jason Behrendorff or Riley Meredith may make way for him.
