Jaiswal smashed his third FC double ton on his Irani Trophy debut
It was a one-way street on Day 1 of the Irani Trophy 2023 as Abhimanyu Easwaran and Yashasvi Jaiswal's 371-run stand allowed Madhya Pradesh no respite.

Easwaran, Jaiswal's juggernaut knocks
After the Rest of India skipper Mayank Agarwal was sent packing early in the morning by Avesh Khan, the wicket did not serve their purpose as Madhya Pradesh had to wait almost 85 overs to get the second batter dismissed.
Easwaran and Jaiswal made for MP's tribulations as the Gwalior heat had their bowlers sweating.
While Easwaran was the aggressor initially, Jaiswal soon picked up pace and outscored his partner to record his third double-century in First-Class cricket.

Although Jaiswal on his Rest of India debut was dropped at least two times in his marathon innings, Avesh did not leave it to the fielders as he cleaned up the Mumbaikar in the 85th over.
Easwaran too fell via run-out on the very next delivery but not before bringing up his 150.
With two consecutive wickets the Himanshu Mantri-led side has trudged on the path of recovery, however, there is still a long way to go as ROI dominated the day and ended it at 381/3.
Brief scores:
Rest of India - 381/3
Yashasvi Jaiswal 213 (259), Abhimanyu Easwaran 154 (240);
Avesh Khan 2-51 (16)
