Karachi Kings' captain Imad Wasim has spoken highly of Multan Sultans' pacer Ihsanullah despite using an inappropriate term for him during their recent encounter in the Pakistan Super League (PSL) season eight.

In a press conference held in Islamabad on Tuesday, Imad underscored the value of PSL for aspiring cricketers who aim to exhibit their skills and gain national recognition.

The all-rounder acknowledged PSL's global significance, stating that it is the most challenging league worldwide, watched by millions worldwide.

He added that a player's performance in PSL often acts as a springboard for their career in international cricket, noting that young players who succeed in PSL are more likely to be recognized and recruited to represent Pakistan.

Regarding Ihsanullah's performance, the southpaw praised the Multan Sultans' bowler, stating that he is bowling exceptionally well and has caught the attention of spectators and selectors alike. According to the 34-year-old, a player can change his life through PSL, and it also ends up benefitting the country.

During the match on Sunday, when Ihsanullah came into bat in the 16th over, the Kings skipper instructed Akif Javed not to bowl full-length deliveries to the bowler and to bowl bouncers instead, which he conveyed using inappropriate language.

After the contentious exchange, Imad placed a leg slip for the speedster, who remained unbeaten at zero in the match as Multan Sultans was bowled out for 101. Karachi eventually went on to win the game by 66 runs, thus securing their second win of the PSL 2023 campaign.

Meanwhile, Ihsanullah, with 14 wickets in the tournament, has proven to be a formidable opponent for the Karachi Kings. His formidable pace and economical spells have made him one of the most feared bowlers in the competition.
