It's time for some slam-bang T20 cricket as India and West Indies gear up for the first T20I of this five-match T20I series. It is the 200th T20I game for India and they have to bowl first as West Indies have won the toss at the beautiful Brian Lara Stadium. The home team have decided to bat first while the visitors, India  are going with two debutants in the form of Tilak Varma and Mukesh Kumar.

The young Tilak Varma is one of the most talented youngsters in the Indian setup currently and it would be interesting to see how he goes about his business at the international stage. Mukesh Kumar, on the other hand, has already shown his value in other formats on this tour and would be looking to build on this confidence.

Here are the playing XIs of both the sides -

India Playing XI: Ishan Kishan (wk), Shubman Gill, Suryakumar Yadav (vc), Tilak Varma, Hardik Pandya (c), Sanju Samson, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Mukesh Kumar, Yuzvendra Chahal

West Indies Playing XI: Brandon King, Johnson Charles, Kyle Mayers (vc), Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shimron Hetmyer, Rovman Powell (c), Jason Holder, Alzarri Joseph, Romario Shepherd, Akeal Hosein, Obed McCoy

West Indies, on the other hand, have brought in some big star players back into the fold. Nicholas Pooran is back after a blistering performance in MLC while the likes of Holder and Obed McCoy are also back.

India are going with three spinners with both Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal playing along with Axar Patel. Arshdeep Singh and Mukesh Kumar are two seamers and both teams look quite power-packed to setup a cracking opening game.
