After excessive fog in Lucknow abandoned the 4th T20I between India and South Africa, the 5th and final T20I of the series awaits in Ahmedabad. The match is scheduled for December 19, as the live action starts from 7 PM IST.

India

India's top order is pretty much dependent on Abhishek Sharma, coming into the 5th T20I. While the middle order takes care of things, the fiery start Abhishek provides is not accelerated further after his dismissal. This is an aspect SKY & Co. have to work upon ahead of the final T20I.

With the bowling lineup doing well, led by Arshdeep Singh, Varun and Harshit Rana, India, 2-1 up in the series, should bag the decider.

South Africa

South Africa has all the complaints in their batting department. The initial collapses and mega topples of top-to-middle order batters are itching points that the visitors need to address ahead of their chance to level the series.

With attackers like David Miller, Markram, De Kock in fray, Proteas need to do better in the batting department as the bowling is well run by Marco Jansen, Ottneil Baartman and Anrich Nortje.

IND vs SA T20I head-to-head overview

India and South Africa have faced each other in 35 T20Is to date. India lead the head-to-head record with 20 wins, while South Africa has claimed 13 victories, and two matches ended with no result.

Narendra Modi Stadium Ahmedabad pitch report

The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad generally supports good scoring with the bat, and high scores are likely. However, pace bowlers may find some assistance with the new ball, while spinners tend to become more effective in the latter half of the game.

Most importantly, smog or fog is not a factor at play here. Hence, a match cancellation is highly unlikely, with a run-fest on the cards.
