In a significant development, India have decided to bowl first in the first ODI against Australia in Mohali. In the absence of Rohit Sharma, stand-in skipper KL Rahul won the toss, opting to bowl on Mohali's batting-friendly deck.
"We will bowl first. Obviously, historically it's a good chasing ground. Obviously, there are some boxes to be ticked. Or the boxes we have ticked we need to maintain them. Yeah, get to the conditions and play well. They (Australia) have been a competitive team. We have enjoyed playing against them. We hope that we can do that once again. Five players come in. Ruturaj comes in, Surya, Ashwin, Shami and Shreyas come in," Rahul said at toss.
Meanwhile, Australian skipper Pat Cummins revealed that they would’ve bowled first as well. The ace speedster also disclosed their batting order, confirming Mitchell Marsh as David Warner’s opening partner, with Steve Smith and Marnus Labuschagne slotted at three and four, respectively.
