In the ongoing fourth T20I between India and England at the MCA Stadium in Pune, Harshit Rana, who was not a part of India's playing XI, is making his T20I debut because of concussion injury. It is worth noting that Shivam Dube, who batted in the first innings, and scored a blistering fifty, did not took field in the 2nd innings.
For the unversed, Shivam Dube was hit on the helmet in the last over of the first innings, following which he did not take the field and was replaced by Harshit Rana as concussion substitute. The rule allows the replaced player to bat or ball.
Pundits Accuse India Of Cheating
It is worth noting that India are receiving a flak for bringing in Harshit Rana as Shivam Dube's replacement, because the concussion substitute rule suggests a like-to-like replacements in such situations. It is worth noting that pundits like Pietersen are unhappy with India and called it out live in the commentary box.
Talking about the ongoing match, England are in deep trouble as they have lost seven wickets for 137 runs and still require 42 runs to win in 25 balls.
Meanwhile, Harshit Rana made an immediate impact as he taken two wickets so far in the match and is making the management proud of their decision. If India manage to win this match, they will seal the series.
