West Indies are taking on Afghanistan in the 40th and last group stage of the T20 World Cup 2024. This match will be played at the Daren Sammy Stadium in Gros Islet, St. Lucia, West Indies.

Both the teams have remained undefeated coming into this game. While Afghanistan have decimated Uganda, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea, the West Indies have also been in similar form in the tournament. Both Rashid Khan and Rovman Powell will want their respective team to continue the winning form and carry the momentum into the next round.

During the toss of the match, Afghanistan won the toss and decided to bowl first. Rashid Khan opined that the track will remain more or less the same throughout the game, and on such a track, fielding first is the best option. They have kept the same team from the last match.

Rovman Powell looked confident about his side. Though they have made two changes for this game, none of them are tactical, as per Powell. Romario Shepherd is missing this game due to the birth of his second child. Obed McCoy replaces him in the XI. Roston Chase, on the other hand, has been rested to give Shai Hope a go in the tournament.
