The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) faced the Indian fans' wrath for covering the Asia Cup 2025 encounter against Pakistan on social media platform X (formerly Twitter). This year's Asia Cup clash between India and Pakistan has grabbed the limelight for all wrong reasons.

Why Netizens Blasted BCCI On Social Media?

After a Pakistan-sponsored terror attack in Pahalgam shocked the entire country, India took a retaliatory step by neutralising the militant bases through Operation Sindoor. Considering the geopolitical tensions between the neighbouring nations, fans had expected the Indian cricketing body to say no to the Asia Cup clash against Pakistan.

However, the Indian Government kept its stance on the matter unchanged, allowing the Men in Blue to play against their Pakistani counterparts in multi-national competitions while scrapping the bilateral ties.

This move didn't go well with India's fan base, as 'X' users united to boycott the clash entirely on social media. In such a scenario, a post from the BCCI's official handle regarding the live coverage of the game earned the Indian board massive online trolling and backlash.

"Welcome to the live coverage of the Asia Cup Match between India and Pakistan," the BCCI posted.

Here's how Indian fans expressed their anguish under BCCI's social media post:

"Every ball you cover is equal to a bullet on the family of ones who got martyred in Pahalgam attack and it's proved that govt and bcci doesn't care about common people emotions. Have some shame man."

"Since you’ve decided to play despite such backlash. If you lose the match, don’t come back to India. We will never like you or watch your matches again."

Shame on you guys for forcing players to play the match against a group of players who want to ridicule India. Shame on you guys to play this over the dead bodies of the ones killed by terrorists in the name of religion. Have some shame !!!

Not interested at alll. Stop embarrassing us!!

Now coming to the match, Pakistan captain Agha Salman won the toss and opted to bat first. Both teams have gone with an unchanged XI for this game, which is set to commence at Dubai International Stadium.
