This was a much awaited battle between two top teams and at-least the first innings lived up to the expectations.

Gujarat Titans rode on the brilliance of Shubman Gill, Abhinav Manohar and finisher David Miller to post a competitive 207 for 6 on the board. Mumbai Indians have a solid batting lineup, but this will take some chasing in front of a jam-packed Narendra Modi Stadium.

Gill shows his class

After a string of low scores, Shubman Gill is back amongst the runs. With Wriddhiman Saha and Hardik Pandya not amongst the runs tonight, someone had to stand up and Gill did just that. He started slowly, but after a couple of overs, the Indian batter showed his class on a wonderful track for batting.

Gill found the gaps to perfection and was not afraid to take the aerial route as well. He had a great match-up against Mumbai Indians' Arjun Tendulkar, and Gill passed it with flying colours. There was a sense of aggression when the spinners came on as Gill notched up yet another fifty, but was eventually dismissed for a 34-ball 56, laced with seven fours and a maximum.

GT's finishing duo - Manohar, Miller

Despite the foundation laid by Gill, GT needed a strong finish on a batting paradise, and fair to say that Abhinav Manohar and David Miller provided just that. Manohar started the carnage in the 15th over, smashing Piyush Chawla for 4, 4, 6 to rattle the spinner.

Miller joined the party in the next over as the boundary floodgates opened. The 17th over bowled by Meredith went for 13 and the following over by Cameron Green gave away 22 as GT went closer to the 200-run mark.

Despite Manohar's dismissal for a well-crafted 42 off 21, Miller and Tewatia ensured that GT posted a mammoth total on the board.
