The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a 14-member squad for the upcoming third and final Test between England and South Africa. The same set of players from the squad featured in the Manchester Test, which the hosts' won by an innings and 85 runs last week to level the series 1-1.
Ben Stokes will lead the side, with the likes of James Anderson, Stuart Broad, Jonny Bairstow, and Joe Root to marshal around. Despite much criticism, Zak Crawley keeps his place in the squad after a string of low scores.
England aiming to seal the series
Jack Leach is the only spinner in the squad. The bowling attack comprises the veteran pair of Anderson and Broad, who are joined by Ollie Robinson, Craig Overton and Matthew Potts.
Series level at 1-1
South Africa led by Dean Elgar won the first Test at Lord's by an innings and 12 runs, deflating the Bazball theory.
Stokes in the second Test scored a timely hundred that ensured his side gained a massive lead in their first innings. The all-rounder was ably supported by wicketkeeper-batter Ben Foakes, who registered his second Test century during the match.
