Legendary Indian batter Virat Kohli had a fantastic start to the ODI series against South Africa, as he slammed a magnificent century in the opening game at JSCA stadium in Ranchi. Soon after reaching his hundred, Kohli encountered a fan who touched his feet in admiration.

The incident happened in the 38th over when South African skipper Aiden Markram handed the ball to ace speedster Marco Jansen to break the stand between Kohli and KL Rahul. After Rahul took a single off the third delivery, Kohli gently guided the fifth ball to the deep backward point fence for a boundary.
As he was stranded on 99, the boundary helped Virat Kohli register a memorable hundred, his 52nd in the format. While the legendary batter took a giant leap to celebrate his century, one of his fans intruded the playing area and touched his feet in admiration.
Although the security personnel were swift enough to take the fan out of the ground, his gesture showcased his love for the Indian great.

After winning the toss and opting to bowl first, South Africa got an early breakthrough, with Nandre Burger getting rid of Yashasvi Jaiswal. However, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma didn't let South Africa dominate the game, adding a magnificent stand for the second wicket.
While Rohit was trapped in front of the stumps for 57 runs, Kohli went on to convert his start into a significant score and slam a stunning hundred. This was his 83rd century across formats, and he broke Sachin Tendulkar's record for the most hundreds in a single format.
